Session 5: Empowering what's possible! Uncovering the potential of deaf/ blind dogs - led by Deb Bauer, USA
Covering: Effective communication with deaf, and deaf/blind dogs, trick training deaf and blind dogs- why it's benefitial and where to start, step by step guide to teaching several tricks, teaching your deaf and blind dog confidence, working with props, inspirations on what you can achieve, practical idas for you to try with your dog.
 
Session 6: Living with and training deaf and blind dogs led by a panel: Erin Marion (lead), USA Kathy Busam, USA Miriam Scheinblum, USA
Covering: common challenges of day to day living with a deaf and blind dog at home, safety, enrichment activities, socialisation for deaf and blind dogs, playing with deaf and blind gos. The second part covers practical actionable advice to dog trainers who are starting to work with deaf and blind dogs and useful tips to dog owners/guardians who would like to attend training sessions.
 
Session 7: Practical case studies by Jessica Banks, USA Kathy Busam, USA Angela Hobday, UK Miriam Scheinblum, USA 
4 different practical case studies that build and expand on all the previous sessions. The session covers a vast range of topics from helping the dog who is loosing sight/hearing, introducing a new deaf and blind puppy to the household, safety at home and outside, leash walking for deaf and blind dogs, calming and settling techniques, managing interactions of deaf and blind dogs with other dogs, dog body language, lots of low-cost enrichment ideas and opportunities and even communicating and learning about your deaf and blind dog using recordable buttons.
